ØJET
Two performative exhibitions at Officinet and Kvit Gallery, made in collaboration with Marie Boye.
In the project ØJET (the eye), we have worked with the carpet as a cultural artefact, format and narrative media. The carpet is reinvented in a play with the performative, erotic, uncomfortable, baroque and voluptuous.
The inspiration is found in the novel “L’histoire de l’oeil” by Georges Bataille, an erotic, luscious and bizar story about the perversions of a young couple.
These elements are highlighted by the choice of materials, and the carpets supports the story through their expressions, and less through their motifs.
